Temperance: Whoa Tiger, Take it Easy

The card of the day is TEMPERANCE.

I know that you know this, but, here we go:

You really don’t have the kind of body that you can abuse with excessive drugs, alcohol, or food without paying a serious price. In fact, you have the sort of body that really craves balance – BADLY. It might not seem as exciting to take a middle course and be moderate with what you choose to do with your body (or your life), but believe me, you will thank me tomorrow, if you take my advice today.

It’s time to take it easy. Give yourself two weeks and cut out ALL unnecessary stimulation (shut off your cell phone and disconnect from the internet during this time). It’s time to go within and go without whatever is bogging you down mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Start here:

-Feed yourself well. Stock your kitchen with fruit, vegetables, fresh herbs, seafood, chicken, whole grain bread, real fat (butter, olive oil, coconut oil), nuts, seeds, full-fat cottage cheese and full-fat yogurt.

-Make time to exercise and get outside in the fresh air – if you are by water, all the better!

-Get more sleep than you think you need.

-Take time to just think. If you don’t have to be anywhere important just relax.

You have a lot of work to do in the next few weeks, so I won’t add too much more, except this:

Carry a notebook with you and document your progress. Record what you are thinking about and how you  are feeling. If you start making some of these changes, my guess is, you will notice some dramatic improvements! Also, it will serve as a nice reminder of how to get back on track if you should start to become unbalanced again.

Oh, and don’t forget to tell us how it goes! Please leave a comment if you think any of these strategies are helpful. The comment section is a great place to share your authentic experience. What do you do when you need to slow down?
