Five of Cups: Adjusting to Loss

The card of the day is the FIVE OF CUPS.

five of cups (11)

Sigh. There is no denying that the FIVE OF CUPS explores our feelings about loss. The thing is, nothing stays the same forever and loss will always be a significant part of the life experience.  The challenge of the five of cups lies in our ability to adjust to the losses that occur in our day-to-day lives.

How do you adjust to the challenge of forced change? Do you see any patterns in your emotional response?

It’s always appropriate to mourn the loss of a person, situation, or way of life, but what is different from person-to-person, is the amount of time the grief process takes.

Whether it’s 3-days, 1-week, or a year, the advice of this card is to grieve what you’ve lost for as long as you need to, but be prepared to move on when the time is right.

Only you will know when the time is right to explore new emotional opportunities.
